Working for one of leading security companies in aviation, we are currently recruiting for a Airport Duty Manager based at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

PLEASE NOTE CANDIDATES MUST HAVE PREVIOUS AIRPORT EXPERIENCE FOR THIS ROLE.

Job Overview:

1.1 - To lead a team of security agents to deliver a safe, secure, compliant and efficient security function at LJLA. To be delivered in accordance with DfT Directives and internal security procedures, to ensure the operational needs of the business are met and delivered to the standards as outlined within the agreed SLA.
1.2 - To promote a customer focused service continually striving to improve performance by monitoring and coaching members of the team, identifying areas of improvement and/or development and proactively implementing any agreed action plans.

2. Principal Accountabilities

2.1 - To manage and supervise a team of security agents ensuring compliance with and adherence to DfT Directives and internal SOP’s.
2.2 - To monitor performance of team members and take immediate action in the even of non compliance.
2.3 - Identify areas for improvement and/or development both for individuals and the team collectively, proposing and implementing appropriate/agreed rectification action.
2.4 - To manage and assume responsibility for staff deployment into specific tasks/areas. Identify variances in the required reource plan and take reasonable steps to deal with any short fall.
2.5 - Provide regular operational briefs for staff to ensure they are fully aware of any changes to regulatory and/or standard operational procedures/requirements.
2.6 - Assume Responsiblility for absence management to include conducting the appropriate "return to work" interviews. Identifying and escalating trends internally.
Conduct investigations and following the company disciplinary process as required.
2.7 - To positively and proactively promote company customer service standards assuming first line responsibility for all customer service issues and the handling of complaints.
2.8 - To assume responsibility for passenger flow immediately prior to and during the security screening process(s).
2.9 - To respond to and manage exceptions to standard working practices. To include; but not limited to; responding to threats, incidents and/or occurrences.
2.10 - Reporting and escalating incidents and/or occurrences in accordance with company procedures.
2.11 - To liase with colleagues within LJLA regarding repairs. maintenance and service issues.
2.12 - Where appropriate, deputise for the Station Manager.
2.13 - Whilst at work the post holder will be expected to comply with the employees responsibilities as outlined in sections 7 & 8 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, The post holder shall take reasonable care of the health and safety of him/herself and all other persons who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions at work.
2.14 - The post holder will not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interest of health and safety.
2.15 - Any other ad-hoc duties which may occur and are considered to be within the post holders capabilities to ensure business continuity.

£9.00 - £10.00 per hour.

Airport Baggage handlers are responsible for marshalling aircraft in the gate, loading, unloading and sorting freigh and baggage. Ramp Service Agents are also responsible for servicing aircraft lavatories and potable water, pushback plane form the gate, deicing and other duties as delegated.

Essential duties and Responsiblities of a Baggage Handler/Ramp Agent:

  • Responsible for maintainting safety and security of the ramp at all times.
  • Monitor customer safety during boarding and deplaning, and assist customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Marshall aircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving departing and towed aircraft)
  • Transfer baggage to all airlines.
  • Observe safe ground handling procedures and maintenance of ground handling equipment, including the performances of equipment checks.
  • Comply with all safety procedures and Station Policies.
  • Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate and careful handling of customer baggage, airfreight and COMAT (continuous lifting, loading/unloading, sorting and transfer of baggage, freight, COMAT)
  • Service aircraft as needed (aircraft lavatories, portable water, window wash, de-icing and commissary items)
  • Assist in ramp set-up and storage of equipment and baggage.
  • Constant communication with Operations, Flight Crew personnel and other ground personnel.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor and Manager.

£7.70 per hour.

Other information:
Must have a full UK Clean Driving licence.
Must be able to pass a colourblind test.

Every Candidate will have to provide a 5 year checkable work history and a CRC check.

You will be tasked with assembling PCB (Printed Circuit Boards) and other duties relating to the industry.

Ideally you will have previous experience however full training will be provided.

Candidates must live within 10 miles of Hove, East Sussex.

Pay rate is £5.80 per hour. Working hours Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 17:15. Friday 08:00 - 13:00. (39 Hour Week)

Candidates will be asked to attend a registration (venue to be confirmed) if successful at that stage then will be required to complete a competency test on site before starting later on in the month.

Job Purpose

To collect information on the characteristics of air passengers through face-to-face interviews at airside locations.

1. To approach air passengers to seek their cooperation with the survey.

2. To obtain accurate information from air passengers both on their journey and their personal details using a pre-set questionnaire.

3. Use Judgement to consider the answers given to questions and probe where these seem unusual or inconsistern and revise the recorded answer if appropriate. Indicate on the questionnaire where it is believed that false information has been deliberately given.

4. Maintain a strict systematic random sampling scheme to ensure integrity of survey results.

5. On a rotating basis act as shift leader, ensuring that the team are in place on time, maintain productivity, dealing with any problems and liasing with HQ staff as appropriate.

6. As a ‘public face’ of our client, to ensure that conduct and appearance are professional at all times.

Shifts will be for seven and a half hours between the above hours.
